Error 9107: TurboTax is having trouble accessing...

Error 9107 occurs when updating TurboTax:

TurboTax is having trouble accessing your updates

This error indicates a connectivity issue, usually due to your computer setup. Your computer's firewall, content blocker, dial-up accelerator, or other software prevents TurboTax from accessing updates on our server. Error 9107 will continue to occur until you resolve the issues caused by your computer setup.

Do one of the following:

  • To temporarily work around this issue, manually update TurboTax.

Note: Manually updating TurboTax does not resolve connectivity issues caused by your computer setup. We recommend you address these issues before attempting to update TurboTax again.

  • To resolve connectivity issues, try these suggestions:
    • Set up your firewall to work with TurboTax. In particular, McAfee Internet Security Suite and Net Nanny (ContentWatch) may prevent downloading TurboTax updates.

    • If you use MSN Dial-up Accelerator or other software to speed up your Internet connection, temporarily set it to normal or off before updating TurboTax. (If you use MSN dial-up service, you're probably using the MSN Dial-up Accelerator.)
Still can't update?

If you still can't update TurboTax, order the free update CD.

Important: If you order an update CD after April 1, 2008, we cannot guarantee your CD will arrive by April 15. If you require an update CD after April 1, we recommend either filing an extension or using TurboTax Online (which is always up to date).
