To resolve this issue, log on to your computer as Administrator, and then try again. See Administrator Rights for details.
We have created a tool that can determine which fonts are causing this problem. Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet, and then follow the instructions.
Check your computer for missing fonts
- Download the TTDiag07 application to your computer, then start the program.
- From the TurboTax Diagnostic Utility dialog box, select your version of TurboTax in Select Product.
- Select Start Analysis.
- When the analysis has finished, select Save to File.
- Restart your computer and then try printing from TurboTax.
If you are still unable to print, try the following:
Follow the steps above for checking missing fonts, except this time select the Always download and install new fonts TurboTax uses option, and then select Start Analysis. Once the analysis is finished, you will need to restart your computer.
After you run the Diagnostic Utility, look for Memory Available in the utility window. If this is very low, such as 0.00, you need to free up some working memory. Close all running programs (except the diagnostic tool) and then run the tool again. Check if any memory was freed up. If so, reopen TurboTax and try printing your return.
After you run the Diagnostic Utility, select View Fonts from the utility window. If any boxes are empty or contain very small fonts, or if they are all the same font, you either need to reboot your computer or the files are corrupt. You can also select the View button next to a font. If there are only a few numbers running down the left side, the font is either corrupt, or your computer needs rebooting.
If you are still unable to print, you can manually download the necessary fonts from your original Windows CD.
The fonts you need are:
- cour.ttf
- courbd.ttf
- courbi.ttf
- couri.ttf
