Why can't I log into TurboTax Online 2008?

On October 21, 2009, TurboTax Online closed for 2008 in order to prepare for the 2009 tax season.  The IRS only allows 2008 returns to be e-filed until October 15, plus an extra five days to resubmit any rejected returns.  If you entered your email address in the program, you should still receive an email informing you of the status of your e-filed returns.

How can I check my e-file status now?

TurboTax e-file status check is no longer available for the 2008 filing season. Please call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 or your state tax agency.

What can I do if I still need to file a 2008 tax return?

You need to purchase either a CD or download version of TurboTax.  Please visit our website to purchase: http://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products.jsp.

When will TurboTax Online 2009 be ready?

We anticipate TurboTax Online 2009 to be ready around the first week of December.

Note: You will not be able to e-file your 2009 return until the IRS opens the 2009 e-file season around mid-January 2010.
