Close Open Windows and Programs

Select your Windows system, and then follow the steps:

Windows Vista
  1. Press the?Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys simultaneously.
  2. Select Start Task Manager.
  3. In the Windows Task Manager window,?select Applications.
  4. Select the window or program to close, and?then select End Task.
  5. Repeat the preceding steps for each window or program to close.

Windows XP/2000
  1. Press the?Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys simultaneously.
  2. In the Windows Security window,?select Task Manager.
  3. In the Windows Task Manager window,?select Applications.
  4. Select the window or program to close, and?then select End Task.
  5. Repeat the preceding steps for each window or program to close.

Windows Me/98/95
  1. Press the?Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys simultaneously.
  2. In the Close Program window, select the program to close, and?then select End Task.
    Note: Do not close Explorer or Systray.
  3. Repeat the preceding steps for each window or program to close.
