Set Your Screen Resolution (Windows)

Your screen resolution affects the sharpness and clarity of displayed information. TurboTax requires a minimum resolution to display text and images properly.

Important: Be sure your screen resolution meets at least the minimum requirements for your tax-year version of TurboTax.

To set your screen resolution, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click an empty area on your desktop, and then choose Properties.
  2. On the Display Properties window, click the Settings tab.
  3. In the Screen resolution area, set the resolution (e.g., 1024 by 768 pixels) to at least the minimum required by your version of TurboTax. For a higher resolution, drag the slider to the right.

  4. In the Color Quality area, select 16 bit or higher from the list (32 bit is recommended).

  5. Click OK to apply your settings and close the Display Properties window.
Note: Your screen might flicker or momentarily turn black, or you might need to restart your computer.
  6. If a message asks whether you want to keep the settings, click OK.
