Cannot Open Downloaded TurboTax File

When you attempt to install the downloaded TurboTax product file, it won't open. This situation can occur if your computer cannot expand the downloaded file.

Note: TurboTax product files are compressed so you can download them more quickly over the Internet. You computer must expand the downloaded file before you can install the product. Many computer operating systems have expansion software built in; however, some Mac OS X versions (such as 10.4) do not.

Follow these steps to expand (also called "unzipping" or "unstuffing") the downloaded file:

Download and install StuffIt Expander, a free expansion software product.
To install TurboTax, double-click the downloaded product file.
