Transfer Last Year's Return to a Different Computer

If you saved last year's tax return on a different computer and want to transfer that information to TurboTax 2008, you'll need to copy the tax return file to the new computer before transferring. Here's how:

  1. Find last year's tax return file on your old computer.
  2. Copy last year's tax return from your old computer to your new computer.
  3. Follow the instructions to transfer last year's tax return information to TurboTax 2008.
Note: When you transfer a return that was created on a different computer, the file may not be listed on the Transfer Tax Return Information screen. In this case, select Browse to Find File, navigate to your tax return file on your computer's hard drive, and then select Open.
