Error: "No data was imported to TurboTax..." When Importing from Quicken

The message "No data was imported to TurboTax. Please be sure you have assigned the data in Quicken" appears when attempting to import Quicken data.

Possible Cause and Solution

It's likely TurboTax can't find valid Quicken data to import. Here are some solutions to try:

Verify the information you want to import

  1. Run a Tax Schedule Report in Quicken to verify that you have valid data to import. From the Quicken Reports menu, select Tax or Taxes, and then select Tax Schedule. (In Quicken Basic, you'll find this under Reports, EasyAnswer, Tax, Tax Schedule.) Be sure to select the appropriate tax year for your date range.
  2. If no information appears in the Quicken Tax Schedule Report, check the dates of your Quicken transactions and your category tax line items. These dates should fall within the 2005 tax year.

Check for non-zero dollar amounts

  1. Sometimes this happens if you try to import information with zero dollar amounts. If the Tax Schedule Report shows there is valid data to import, make sure there are non-zero amounts listed for at least one category.
  2. If there are valid non-zero amounts for at least one category, you might be attempting to import information that TurboTax is not ready for. At the beginning of the Interview, you cannot import W-2, Business, rental, farm, investment, moving, or mortgage expenses into TurboTax. TurboTax prompts you to import this information later in the interview at the appropriate time.
