Error: "No information exists for QuickBooks [filename].qbw" When Importing from QuickBooks

The message No information exists for QuickBooks [filename].qbw appears when importing QuickBooks data into TurboTax. In this message, [filename] is replaced by the name of your QuickBooks data file.

Possible Cause and Suggestions

This message occurs when TurboTax isn't able to find information in your QuickBooks file that matches the information in the current interview topic. For example, if you are working on the Form W-2 section of the interview and TurboTax doesn't detect any wage and salary information in your QuickBooks data file, you'll see this error.

Suggestions

  • Review the QuickBooks information you want to import. Skip the import in areas of the Interview where QuickBooks information doesn't exist.
  • Double-check your tax-line assignments in QuickBooks to make sure you import the correct information at the appropriate time during the TurboTax Interview. (For assistance in checking the tax line assignments, consult your QuickBooks Help.)
  • If the message persists, skip the import and manually enter the information for that interview topic. This will not affect the ability to import other information from QuickBooks later in the interview.
