Amend Your Prior Year Tax Return Using Revised Tax Information (2007 or Earlier)

Important: You would amend a return only if you needed to make a change after you filed it. If you have not filed your tax return, you don't need to amend it. Simply correct your return in TurboTax, then file it by mail.
Important: Before you amend your return, we strongly recommend that you undo the changes to your tax return then follow the instructions for amending using your original tax information. If you cannot undo your changes, follow the instructions in this article.
Important: You must undo your changes and amend using original tax information for these states: Florida, Hawaii (non-resident and part-year resident returns only), Idaho, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Vermont and Washington, D.C.

If you have made corrections in TurboTax since filing your return, you'll use your revised tax information to amend your return. Your revised amounts will flow to Form 1040X, and to complete the form, you'll enter the amounts from your original return.

Note: The steps below assume you've already revised your federal return (but not your state return) in TurboTax.

Follow these steps:
