What is Form 1099-PATR?

Form 1099-PATR, Taxable Distributions Received From Cooperatives, is to be filed for each person to whom the cooperative has paid at least $10 in patronage dividends and other distributions or from whom you withheld any federal income tax under the backup withholding rules regardless of the amount of the payment.

How do I Enter Form 1099-PATR?

For TurboTax Basic, Deluxe, or Premier:

  1. Select the Federal Taxes tab, then select Income.
  2. In the Your Income screen, select the Select Specific Topics button.
  3. In the Your Income screen, select Business Income and Expenses.
  4. Select the Start or Revisit button for Farm Income and Farm Rental.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter information about your farm.
  6. In the Enter Income screen, go to the Income from cooperative distributions section and enter your information in the boxes provided for Form 1099-PATR.

For TurboTax Home & Business:

  1. Select the Business tab, then select Business Income & Expenses.
  2. In the Your Business Income screen, select the Select Specific Topics button.
  3. Select Form Income and Expenses, then select the Start or Revisit button for Farm Income and Expenses.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter information about your farm.
  5. In the Enter Income screen, go to the Income from cooperative distributions section and enter your information in the boxes provided for Form 1099-PATR.
