Q. Is my Schedule C included?
A. All Schedules filed as part of your Federal 1040 Tax Return are included.
Q. I have multiple Schedule C businesses. Are they all included?
A. Yes.
Q. I have a business. Is it included?
A. If you have a business that files a partnership or corporation return, you must purchase a separate Business membership for that business.
Q. What is the turnaround time from when I reported an audit to TRI until I can speak with a Tax Professional?
A. When an audit is reported to us we will have you send in your notice and return. When we receive your documents we will notify you they have been received and in 2-5 business days a Tax Professional will call you.
Q. How long will the 2008 TurboTax Audit Defense Membership Plan defend my return?
A. This 2008 membership will defend your 2008 tax return for as long as it can be audited.
Q. Can I purchase an Audit Defense Membership for prior years?
A. Yes, you have two choices. You can visit TRI's website at http://intuit.taxaudit.com or call TRI's Customer Service at 877-829-9695. The current year plus the prior 5 years will always be available for sale. The pricing is identical to the current year pricing. Prior year Audit Defense memberships cannot be purchased through TurboTax or in any other manner through Intuit.
Q. What happens if I do not file my tax return on time?
A. The TurboTax Regular Membership Plans do not include returns that are filed late. TaxResources will defend late filed returns for an additional fee. Late filing coverage is available through Tax Audit Defense Customer Service at 877-829-9695.
Q. What happens if I file an extension?
A. If your return is timely filed, including extensions, each tax return for which you purchase a membership will be protected for as long as it can be audited.
Q. Is my amended return eligible for membership?
A. If the original tax return was filed timely, including extensions, amended returns are also included in that membership.
Q. What if I have multiple state returns?
A. All state returns are included.
Q. I purchased Audit Defense for 2008 several weeks ago but still haven't received my membership kit in the mail. Why hasn't it come yet?
A. Your TurboTax Audit Defense Membership will be fully processed in 5 to 7 business days. Once processed, your certificate and membership agreement will be available for viewing and printing at the TRI web site: http://intuit.taxaudit.com.
You will also receive an email from TaxResources, with a link to their website, notifying you that your membership has been processed and your certificate is ready to be printed. To make sure you receive the email message, add AuditDefenseCertificate@taxaudit.com to your Safe Senders List. If you have questions about your membership, you can call our toll free customer service number 877-829-9695.
Q. Do you review my tax return?
A. Not as part of your Tax Audit Defense Memberships. We offer a Professional Tax Review for TurboTax Customers.
