Experiencing difficulty printing tax return using Adobe Reader

Some TurboTax Online customers have reported having difficulty viewing or printing PDF files of their income tax returns using Adobe software, especially when preparing their tax returns using the FireFox or Internet Explorer 7.0 (IE7) web browsers.

Here are a few suggestions that have successfully resolved many of these viewing/printing issues:

  • Open your Adobe program. Select Edit on the menu bar, select Preferences, then select Internet. Make sure that the check box for Display PDF in Browser is selected. Your tax return forms should now display on your screen and print.
  • Try starting a session of TurboTax Online using an earlier version of Internet Explorer to print your return.
  • If you're using IE7 and cannot see your tax return in PDF format, you may also want to check to see if your pop-up blocker is blocking the Adobe preview box that shows the return in PDF format.
  • If you are still experiencing an Adobe printing issue, you may want to consider downloading the latest Adobe Reader program updates from the Adobe web site, or you can try un-installing, and then reinstalling the Adobe software on your computer.
