Estimated tax payments are prepayments of income tax that you make to your federal, state or local taxing agency. They are usually made by mailing a check and a voucher in quarterly installments throughout the year.

Enter all estimated tax payments, including state and local tax payments, on the federal side of the interview:

In TurboTax, click the Federal Taxes tab (Personal in the Home & Business version) and then click Deductions & Credits below it.
On the Let's Start Your Deductions and Credits screen, click the Select Specific Topics button.
You should be on the screen Your Deductions and Credits. Scroll down to the Taxes Paid topic, then click View List to the right.
Click Start or Revisit to the right of the Estimated Taxes entry and proceed.
