Error 67108890: "Internet Client has not been successfully initialized"

This error occurs when you attempt to use a TurboTax feature (such as One-click Updates or Download State) that connects to the Internet.

The error might occur if your version of Internet Explorer lacks 128-bit encryption technology.

To update your version of Internet Explorer, follow these steps:

  1. Exit TurboTax and close all open programs.
  2. Click the appropriate link:
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. Start TurboTax and try to access the online feature again
