Can I deduct mortgage interest on a home outside the U.S.?

You can deduct mortgage interest paid on property outside of the United States as long as you itemize deductions and meet all of the normal requirements to take the deduction. Interest is deductible if you are liable for the mortgage, you make the payments, and you are not deducting interest on more than two homes.
