You can deduct mortgage insurance (PMI) as an itemized deduction on tax returns for 2011 or earlier years if certain requirements are met.
If your adjusted gross income is more than $100,000 ($50,000 if married filing separately) your deduction is reduced; once it reaches or exceeds $109,000 ($54,500 if married filing separately) the deduction is eliminated.
