What is SnapTax?

SnapTax is available for 1040EZ filers in any state with:

• No dependents
• No home or real estate ownership
• Income of $80k or less ($100k married)
• Income only from W-2s, interest, or unemployment

System Requirements for SnapTax

If you own an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad with iOS 4.1 or later, you have what you need to use SnapTax.

Can I use SnapTax on my iPad?

• Yes, the larger size makes the iPad ideal for data entry. Keep in mind that you won't be able to snap a picture of your W-2 on the iPad.

Can I use SnapTax on my iPod Touch?

Yes, but you need to be connected to the Internet using the WiFi on your iPod Touch. Also, the camera on the iPod Touch does not have enough resolution to use the W-2 photo feature.

If you want to use SnapTax on your iPod Touch:

1. Connect to the Internet via WiFi.
2. If you haven't already, go to the Apple website and download the latest iPhone operating system (version 4.1 or above).
3. Then, go to the iTunes App Store and download SnapTax.
4. If you need to add a W-2:
   1. Tap Enter Forms > Income From a Job > add new W-2
   2. Tap Type It Myself.

It's so simple! First, you download SnapTax and then...

1. Snap a photo of your W-2.
   • Tear off one copy of your W-2 form and place it on a flat surface in bright light. Follow the on-screen instructions to capture the image.
   • After you take the photo, wait for SnapTax to scan it. Using OCR technology, SnapTax will extract W-2 field data for import to your tax return.
   • Make sure you check every field and make any needed changes. You can also add more income to your return, such as bank and interest info from a 1099-INT.
2. Answer a few simple questions.
3. Review and e-file securely.
   • SnapTax will automatically e-file your tax return. Check your email for status updates in the following 1-2 days

1. On your smartphone, use a QR code scanner to scan one of the codes below. - or -
2. On your smartphone, manually search for "TurboTax SnapTax" in the iTunes App Store or Android Market. - or -
3. For Android users only: On the Web, enter your phone email address in a form on AndroidZoom.com  to receive a download link.

1. Install then open a QR code scanner on your smartphone.
2. Position your phone camera over the applicable QR code shown below.
3. Follow your phone's on-screen help to complete SnapTax installation.

iPhone Users - Scan this QR code to go to the App Store page on your phone.
 

Android Users - Scan this QR code to open the Android Market app on your phone.

• You purchased SnapTax - and -
• You e-filed your return with SnapTax - and -
• Your SnapTax return was rejected by the IRS - and -
• You corrected the rejection by transferring your return from SnapTax to TurboTax Online.

• As a policy, Apple states that all sales are final through the iTunes store.
  • There are some special circumstances under which Apple will grant a refund.
• Android  customers have 15 minutes from the time of download to return an application purchased through Android Market for a full refund.
