Any person who lives with you the entire 12 months of the year, is not a dependent of someone else, is not a married person filing a joint return, is a U.S. citizen or national or a resident alien or a resident of Canada or Mexico, has less than $3,700 in gross income, and you provide more than 50% of their support may qualify as a dependent.
