Where do I take a deduction for a home office as an employee?

If you meet the qualifications to take a home office deduction for your work as an employee, you will report the expenses as miscellaneous itemized deductions. The amount of expenses above 2% of your adjusted gross income will be deductible if you itemize deductions rather than take the standard deduction. TurboTax will help you figure out if you qualify and will calculate the correct deduction. Then you can decide if you would rather take the itemized deductions or standard deductions once you complete your itemized deductions.
