How can I tell how much I paid for property taxes?

If your property taxes are paid from an escrow account associated with your mortgage, your Form 1098 will show the amount check your Form 1098. If you write a check to pay your real estate taxes, then go back through your bank records to find the amount. You can also contact your lender to find out the amount paid, or check with your city or county tax office.
