Can I deduct raffle tickets I bought from a charity?

It turns out, you are not allowed to take a charitable contribution deduction for raffle tickets purchased from a non-profit organization, even if the proceeds from the raffle benefited the charity. If you purchased the tickets and then donated them back to the organization or to another charitable organization then the cost may be deductible.
