Why do ItsDeductible item values change after importing into TurboTax?

The values you see in ItsDeductible Online are preliminary estimates and are only updated once a year.

Once you import the item(s) into TurboTax, the estimated values change to the current fair-market values. These frequently differ from the original estimated values.

In particular, consumer electronics such as computers, tablets, cell phones, TVs, audio equipment, etc. often have fair-market values that are significantly lower than their original estimated values because of rapidly changing technology and consumer tastes.
