Verify TurboTax 2011 Is Up to Date (Windows)

We provide updates throughout the tax season to keep TurboTax 2011 software in sync with the latest tax changes. Before you file your tax return, be sure you have the latest TurboTax 2011 updates.

1. From the Online menu in TurboTax, select Check for Updates.
2. The Updater will open and you'll see the message Checking for software updates...
3. Sit back and wait for the Updater to finish doing its thing. Once you see the message Your software is up to date, you're good to go.

You can also manually verify that you have the latest 2011 federal updates (Release 9):

1. From the Help menu in TurboTax, select About TurboTax [Product] 2011 where [Product] is replaced by Basic, Deluxe, etc.
2. In the About TurboTax window, click the Version tab and compare the version number of the Modules with the information in the table below.
3. If you see a lower version number for any of these Modules, update TurboTax.
