.NET Framework Verification Tool can't be found occurs when installing or uninstalling TurboTax for Windows.

Alternately, if .NET Framework 4.x is not installed, you may see an error about a missing temporary file.

If our .NET Framework troubleshooting steps did not resolve the issue, these errors might not be due to a problem with the .NET framework. Instead, it could be that other software is preventing the TurboTax installer from creating necessary files.

First, perform a Diagnostic Startup.
1. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.

Windows Vista or Windows 7

First, we need to open System Configuration.
1. Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and click System and Security (or System and Maintenance).
2. Select Administrative Tools, and then double-click System Configuration.
If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the General tab, click Diagnostic startup, click OK, and then click Restart.
Attempt to install or uninstall TurboTax again.
