Unable to Create User ID in TurboTax Online using Google Chrome

When going through the Try it First experience in TurboTax Online, some customers have experienced issues creating a user ID. After selecting the Create User ID button, the option to enter user id information is never presented.

Cause

This situation is caused when a pop-up blocker is active, however allowing pop-ups at the time of creating the user ID will give you the same experience.

Solution

  1. You will first need to allow pop-ups, when clicking on Create User ID, Click on the pop-ups message in the address bar.
  2. Select Always allow pop-ups from... and then click on Done.

     
     
  3. Close out of the Save your info before you go screen, by selecting Cancel.
  4. Click on the Save & Exit button located in the top right hand corner of TurboTax Online.
  5. Click on the Create User ID.

You will now be presented with the screen to enter information to setup your account.
