What do the different color codes in TurboTax mean?

When you look at an onscreen tax form using Forms Mode, you may be wondering why your data shows up with different colors. The color of the data entry tells you where the data originated from.

Blue Information you entered
Black Information TurboTax calculated
Red An entry that either overrides a calculated black value or a value that is incorrect (such as a nonexistent ZIP code)
Red (italics) Information you marked as estimated

Information TurboTax calculated from an estimated red, italicized entry
Purple Information with supporting details
Aqua Information transferred from last year's return
Green Information imported from financial programs such as Quicken, QuickBooks
Yellow fields (TurboTax for Windows only)

Entries in these fields are not calculated by TurboTax; they are "enterable" by the user
