HTTP Server Error 408 - Request Timeout

Error 408 occurs when attempting to update TurboTax.

Possible Causes

TurboTax is unable to connect to the Internet. Either the Internet connection was dropped (disconnected) or a personal firewall, router or proxy is interfering with communication to the Intuit Update Server.

Solution

Try updating again by choosing Check for Updates from the Online menu in TurboTax. If Error 408 persists, wait awhile and try again later or download the manual update.

For a more lasting solution, diagnose and repair your Internet connection:

  1. Open Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel).
  2. Double-click Network Connections.
  3. Right-click Local Area Connection and choose Diagnose or Repair.
