Error 1632: Temp folder full or inaccessible

Error 1632 occurs when attempting to install TurboTax:

The temp folder is either full or inaccessible. Verify that the temp folder exists and that you can write to it.

Your system uses your temporary (temp) folder when installing TurboTax. If your temporary folder is full, installation fails.

Note: The location of your temporary folder is C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Cancel TurboTax installation (if necessary).
  2. Empty your temporary folder.
  3. Close open windows and programs.
  4. Install TurboTax.
