1098-T: Unable to enter a school's Federal ID if it contains a letter

When entering information from a 1098-T you have received, and the Federal ID number has a letter included in it, TurboTax will not allow you to enter it in the field. If you choose to leave the letter out, you receive a message saying the number is invalid.
Solution
The 1098-T is not a required from for filing your return so if you do encounter this situation, you can leave the Filer's Federal ID No. (School) blank. Doing so will not affect the calculation of the education expense you are trying to claim and will not prohibit you from filing your tax return.
