What happened to the Refund Cycle Chart?

You may remember the IRS Refund Cycle Chart from prior years, a refund schedule that provided an expected federal refund date based on when your tax return was accepted or mailed.

Starting this year, the IRS has discontinued the Refund Cycle Chart. Instead, the IRS provides the Where's My Refund? tool for the most up-to-date information about your tax refund.

By e-filing your return and choosing direct deposit, you've chosen the fastest way to get your refund. Last year, 9 out of 10 taxpayers received their refund in less than 21 days. The same is expected this year.
