Do I have to report last year's state income tax refund?

You have to enter any amount of a state or local tax refund you got last year. Your state (or locality) should send you a Form 1099-G that'll tell you how much your refund was last year. Once you enter in your last year's refund amount, we'll see if you have to pay tax on it. We'll be sure to look for all the ways to save you money and get your biggest refund possible.
