Taxpayers can receive deductions for their qualified retirement distributions on their South Carolina tax returns.
Certain customers may not have received the full retirement deduction on their 2010 South Carolina tax return and may have overpaid their South Carolina taxes.
The issue has been fixed.
How to tell if you are impacted
You are affected if:
- You filed a 2010 South Carolina tax return prior to 2/19/2011 AND
- Your filing status was married filing jointly AND
- You received a qualified retirement distribution as a surviving spouse.
If you are affected, you may have overpaid your South Carolina tax. You will need to amend your South Carolina tax return.
