Can I contribute to a Traditional AND a Roth IRA?

You can contribute to both a Traditional and a Roth IRA in the same year, but the IRA contribution limits apply. Split the contributions any way you choose as long as you don’t go over $5,000 ($6,000 if over age 49) total. Additional limitations may apply based on your filing status and modified adjusted gross income.
