Certain customers, who received Public Safety Officers Disability Income and paid for Medical Insurance Premiums, may have an incorrect tax return
TurboTax has fixed this issue.
How to tell if you are impacted:
You may be affected if ALL of the following are true:
- You filed a federal tax return prior to March 24, 2011, AND
- You were a Public Safety Officer who received disability income reported on 1099-R AND
- You entered in TurboTax the amount of your pension that was paid directly to your health insurer for health insurance premiums AND
- Your medical insurance premiums were greater than your disability income
If you are affected, you may have underpaid your federal tax. You will need to amend your federal tax return.
