Repairing the .NET Framework

Repairing the Microsoft Windows .NET framework can resolve system-related issues that prevent TurboTax from installing successfully.
Make sure you follow every step to properly repair the .NET framework.
First, make sure your version of Windows is up-to-date by clicking here and following the steps.
Windows 7 or Vista:
- After verifying or updating Windows, click the Start button on the Windows taskbar and choose All Programs > Accessories.
- Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. If prompted, click Continue or Yes in the User Account Control window.
- In the black Command Prompt window, type SFC /SCANNOW (include a space after SFC) and press Enter.
- Wait for the scan to complete. This may take some time, depending on the speed of your computer system.
- After the scan completes, restart your computer.
Windows XP:
- After verifying or updating Windows, click the Start button on the Windows taskbar and choose All Programs > Accessories
- Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as…. Select The following user, then enter the username or select it from the drop-down list. After entering your password, click OK.
- In the black Command Prompt window, type SFC /SCANNOW (include a space after SFC) and press Enter.
- Wait for the scan to complete. This may take some time, depending on the speed of your computer system.
- After the scan completes, restart your computer.
- When your computer has restarted, Click Start, then Control Panel, on the Windows taskbar.
- Select Add or Remove Programs.
- In the list, select the version of Microsoft .NET to be repaired (e.g., Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5), and then click the Change/Remove button.
- On the Maintenance Mode screen, select Repair, and the follow the on-screen instructions.
