Printing in TurboTax CD/Download software

Unlike TurboTax Online, the TurboTax CD/Download software program lets you to print your tax return at any time, even if you're not yet finished. Am I using the CD/Download program?

Here's how to print your federal return:

1. Open your tax return and click the Federal Taxes tab (Personal tab in the Home & Business version).
2. From the TurboTax File menu, select Print.
3. In the new window, select what you want to print (records copy, filing copy, etc.) and then click Print.

The steps for printing your state return are the same, except you'll need to open your state return first by clicking the State Taxes tab and continuing a few screens until you are "in" your state return.

This comes in handy if the computer you used to prepare TurboTax doesn't have a printer connection.

Simply save your return as a PDF file on the original computer, and then copy the PDF to a flash drive or e-mail it as an attachment to an e-mail account you can open on the other computer.

Then, on the printer-enabled computer, attach the storage device (or open your e-mail account), open your PDF file, and then print. You'll need to have the free Adobe Reader software installed on the computer to open the PDF file.
