How do I save or back up my TurboTax for iPad tax return?

Important: When you delete an app from your mobile or tablet device, you also delete any associated data files (your copy of your tax return). There is no way to retrieve tax data from your mobile or tablet device after you delete your app. You can avoid this issue by backing up your files before deleting the app.

TurboTax for iPad automatically saves your work as you prepare your tax return. This means your tax file(s) and PDF file(s) are stored with the app on your iPad. However, for security and safekeeping, you must manually back up your completed tax return and tax files. This will enable you to have copies for your records and you will be able to transfer your data into next year's version of TurboTax.
