Solutions
Error 107 may be generated if you attempt to save your tax file directly to a CD. Try saving it to your hard drive first, and then move or save from the hard drive copy to a writeable CD.
It's also possible that data transferred into your current tax program may be preventing you from saving. Suggestions:
- Check the prior year tax file name. If there are any special characters in the file name such as ( %, #, &, @, etc. ), you may want to open the prior year tax return and rename it without any special characters prior to transferring the information into the current tax program.
- After a successful transfer, select "Save As" from the File menu and name the current tax file without any special characters.
If your prior year tax file does not contain special characters, attempt to transfer the file into a new tax return in the current tax program and attempt to save the file. There may be something corrupt in the new tax file that is not allowing it to be saved.
- Create a new tax return in the current tax program and save it with a new file name.
- Transfer your prior year tax information.
- Save the return.
