Can I deduct prescriptions that were bought in Mexico or Canada?

Generally, you cannot take a medical deduction for a prescribed drug brought in or shipped from another country.
You can claim costs of a prescribed drug legally imported under approval of the FDA. You can also include the cost of prescribed drugs purchased and used in another country if the drug is legal in that country as well as in the U.S.
