If your disability requires impairment-related expenses necessary for you to be able to work, you can claim the cost as a business deduction instead of a medical expense and not be subject to the 7.5% medical limit. If you are an employee, deduct it under Job-Related Expenses; if you’re self-employed enter the cost under business expenses.
