Can I deduct last year's medical expenses on this year's taxes?

You can deduct medical expenses only in the year you paid them. You cannot carry amounts to another year even if you don't qualify to take them.
If you didn't claim a deductible expense in a prior year you can amend your return. If you pay by credit card the charge date is the date paid. If you pay online the bank statement date is the date paid.
