Manually Update TurboTax 2008 (Windows)

If you're having trouble updating your TurboTax 2008 for Windows desktop software from inside TurboTax, you can manually download and install your federal update.

1. Close TurboTax and all other programs except this browser window. 
2. Click the button below to download the update:

   

3. Save the file (we recommend saving it to your Desktop).

   

4. After the file finishes downloading, go to your Desktop and double-click the "vise grip" icon, which looks like this:

   

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.

   If the button is dimmed, click it anyway and wait a few seconds, then click it again.
