Louisiana: Education Income Exemption is being Double Reported

Some customers have experienced issues with the education income exemption being reported twice for the State of Louisiana.

Cause

The Louisiana interview contains two separate areas where education exclusions can be entered. If you have reported the education expenses in both of these areas, the exclusion amount will be doubled.

Solution

To resolve this, you must return to the interview section and remove one of these entries. The entries to remove will be located in the interview screen titled Any Other Income Exclusions?, on this screen locate and remove the education expense that is causing the duplicate amount.
