Solution

Try to launch TurboTax after each troubleshooting step below:

If Qwik-Fix Pro is installed on your computer...

Follow these steps:

  1.  Start Qwik-Fix Pro, and then click the Update button on the main screen.
  2. Start TurboTax.

Note: If the issue persists, temporarily disable Qwik-Fix Pro, and then attempt to start TurboTax.

Enable ActiveX

Note: The steps below work only if your browser is Internet Explorer version 5.5, 6.0, 6.0 Service Pack 1, or Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 2. To check your version of Internet Explorer, select About Internet Explorer from the browser's Help menu.

Follow these steps:

  1. Run a program to enable ActiveX by clicking the link and then selecting Open (or Run ): http://turbotax.intuit.com/downloads/support/msxml/EnableActiveX.exe
  2. If you receive the message "ActiveX controls appear to be installed and enabled at this time," click OK, and then try starting TurboTax.
  3. If you receive a different message, follow the on-screen instructions, and then repeat Step 1.

Register Javascript (jscript.dll)

Follow these steps:

  1. On the Start menu, click Run.
  2. At Open, enter regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then click OK.

If registration is successful, the message "dllRegisterServer in jscript.dll succeeded" is displayed.

Use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool

Run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to check DirectX files and drivers on your computer.

Note: See Microsoft KB 190900 for complete information about using the tool to check DirectX components on your computer.

 

 

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Run window, type dxdiag, and then click OK.
  3. On the System tab, select Check for WHQL digital signatures.

  4. Follow the steps in the window to visit each tab.
