Error: "Post uninstall clean up exception occurred..."

The following error occurs when installing TurboTax:
Post uninstall clean up exception occurred. Access to the path X is denied.
where X is replaced by one of these:
- winperReleaseEngine.msi
- winperFedFormset.msi
- winperProgramHelp.msi
- winperTaxSupport.msi
- winperUserEducation.msi
Solution
To resolve this issue, uninstall TurboTax, and then try installing it again.
If you're unable to uninstall TurboTax, forcefully uninstall and reinstall TurboTax.
If the error persists after forcefully uninstalling, delete the TYXX folder (replace XX with the 2-digit tax year) by right-clicking it and choosing Delete. You'll find this folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit\TurboTax. Then try the forceful uninstall procedure again.
