Turn Off File Sharing (Mac)

File sharing can interfere with installing or updating TurboTax on Mac OS X.

To avoid problems, temporarily turn off file sharing:

1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
2. Click the Sharing icon.
3. In the list of services on the left, find  the File Sharing entry.
4. Clear the On check box.
5. Install or update TurboTax.

After installing or updating, you can turn file sharing back on by repeating these steps, except in Step 4 you would put a check in the On check box.
