TurboTax Download Won't Install After Double-Clicking (Mac)

When you double-click the TurboTax for Mac download (.dmg) to install the program, nothing happens.

Your computer may not be able to expand the download. Many computer operating systems have expansion software built in; however, some older Mac OS X versions do not.

Solution

Follow these steps:

Download and install the free version of Smith Micro's StuffIt Expander. You can download this directly from the manufacturer's website or search for a different website to download it from.
Once you've installed StuffIt Expander, double-click the download to install TurboTax for Mac.
