Install the TurboTax CD/Download software for Mac

Installing TurboTax software on a Mac is an easy, 2-step process:

(Download versions) Double-click the downloaded TurboTax .dmg file, which will mount a virtual drive onto your desktop. The drive should then automatically open. Find your download.
(CD versions) Insert the TurboTax CD into your Mac's CD/DVD drive.
Drag the TurboTax version 20XX icon (where XX represents the 2-digit tax year and version is Basic, Deluxe, etc.) to the Applications folder. Unlike the Windows version, there is no separate installer program. Once you've completed this step, you've successfully installed TurboTax!

To open TurboTax, double-click Applications > TurboTax version 20XX. When you're ready to work on your state tax return, TurboTax will walk you through the TurboTax State installation process.

Note: Ensure that you are running the program from the Applications folder, not from the mounted virtual drive or CD.
