Error Code 17866691423 is displayed when installing TurboTax

1. Insert the TurboTax CD into the CD drive. If a message appears, click Cancel or No.
2. If you receive a User Account Control message asking, “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?” select “No”.
3. On the Windows taskbar on your desktop, click Start, and then select All Programs then select Accessories then select Run.
4. In the Run window, click Browse, select the Setup.exe file on the TurboTax CD, and click Open. 
5. Place your cursor right after the last “e” in the Open field, add a space, then type /s.
6. Click OK.

TurboTax will install itself with no graphical interface and use its defaults as follows:

• Install Folder: C:\Program Files\TurboTax
• Updates: Automatic

3. This opens the Temp folder, with a list of files and folders. We will come back to this later.
4. Go back to the desktop and find the icon for TurboTax that you downloaded in the above steps.
5. Double-click the TurboTax icon on your desktop.
6. If you receive a User Account Control message asking, “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?” select Yes.
7. Close any error windows that open.
8. Go back to the Temp folder window.
9. In the Temp folder window you will see a new folder which begins with ckz_. You can sort the list by date/time to see the new folder. You can open the folder to verify it's the TurboTax folder by noting that it contains TurboTax related items. 
10. Right click the new folder in the Temp window that begins with ckz_.
11. Select “Copy”.
12. On the Windows taskbar on your desktop, click Start, and then select Computer. This will open the Computer window.
13. Right click on the Local Disk (C:) icon and select “Paste”
14. Go back to the "Welcome to TurboTax" screen, and select “Cancel”.
15. Go to the Computer window and double click on the Local Disk (C:) icon.
16. Find the folder that you pasted here that starts with ckz_. Right click the folder, select “Rename” and change the name of the folder to Tax
17. On the Windows taskbar on your desktop, click Start, and then select All Programs then select Accessories then select Run.
18. In the Open field, type C:\tax\setup.exe /s
19. Click OK
20. If you receive a User Account Control message asking, “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?” select “Yes”.
